Social Media Marketing Plan: Step 4 For Focus

This is part of a social media ministry market plan focus series:

So we continue on with this series on market plan focus and how improving your focus can play a key role in your business or your social media ministry marketing success.

Step one was to F, fix your eyes on the ultimate destination, your goal. Step two involved O, only spend the most time on those things which produce results. C, was simply to clear your mind of all negative thoughts and replace with clear positive mental maps to that destination desired.

Which brings us to step four.This key provides a solid foundation to maintaining focus to the end. Clearly states, U stands for understanding the need to be steadfast.

Being steadfast means you are fixed in a direction, not easily moved, firm in purpose and faith.

You’ll need to be steadfast to fight the arrows of the enemy of doubt, defeat, and discouragement.

Anything worth your time to obtain is going to have its highs and lows. I’m sure you can remember a valley or peak in areas of your life.

This step will literally help you pull yourself out of a deep pit, if you so happen to fall into despair, doubt, or deep discouragement!

In 1 Corinthians 15:58 is a great verse of scripture to hang onto in regards to carrying out this step:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

When you know God has called you to do something, you have to be rock solid and committed in your attitude. That in itself refines your focus. This steadfastness helps you fight against the enemies attack on your mind, like we discussed about with negative thoughts in step 3.

Being determined to commit to walking out the path to get to your desired destination is a day by day decision. Every day youmay have to re-commit to those things you have determined to do.

One great thing is as you learn to be steadfast, it helps sharpen your focus on what your are determined to see happen…whether in your ministry or personal life!

So make up your mind to fully understand the importance of being steadfast, fixed, rooted, grounded, established, and glued to your purpose, whether it’s for ministry, business, or yourdestiny!

And…don’t grow weary. Let the Word sustain you as you hold on to it to keep your head up and your faith strong amidst the wonderful journey to seeing your vision fulfilled!

The basics of a successful ministry marketing plan online involves many strategies to be successful.

Ministry Marketing: Be Authentic In Your Videos

This is ministry marketing video tip number three in how to gain more viewers to your videos.

This mistake is real simple to avoid. Be real!

You have to be yourself and shine in the giftings God has given you.

If you are trying to copy someone or be like a "televangelist", you’ll come across as fake.

If you are not funny, don’t try to be a comedian!!!

You also ave to put aside your fears and ego, step up to the mic, look into the camera and be YOU!

The closer you can get to who PEOPLE think you are; who YOU think you are ; and WHO YOU REALLY are….The more authentic you come across the camera.

I have some favorites that I enjoy watching on videos or on
television. One of the reasons why I enjoy watching them,
besides the fact they give great value in their content, is because
of how real they come across on their videos.

Dani Johnson, Amy Grant, and Stephen Pierce are a few
people from different backgrounds and professions that I enjoy
watching videos!

When it comes to preachers, I love Jesse Duplantis and Joyce Meyer. They are authentic and still get their message across to their viewers.

With the increase in people online and watching videos, there has never been a greater opportunity for online video ministry to reach out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Check the latest social media and video watching statistics:  The social media site Facebook tops Google for weekly traffic in the United States. Six Blog Tips For Ministry

Blog tip #1: Use A Blog To Share Your Heart, Your "Voice"

You can think of your blogging as your own "pulpit" on line, where you showcase your sincere heart to help others. What are you passionate about and what do you desire to express? To answer, work on developing your own purpose statement. The heart of your ministry flows with your mission and vision statement. This begins with your relationship with God, and helps explain the "why" of where and how you feel lead to minister(by preaching, singing, etc). This is where you connect the dots to discovering and seeing the road map to your God given destiny.

For example, part of my purpose statement in life has to do with motivating people by speaking the Word of God and producing inspiring videos to help them overcome fear and issues which hold them back from experiencing abundant life in Christ. I have a blog that shares marketing keys to be free. This is one of my ministry marketing places on line which I not only use as a web promoting tool, but also to share that which I’m most passionate. I have been writing and expressing my "voice" on line, chipping away at that central theme of Jesus being the key to defeat fear, and finding abundant life NOW in Him!

I have since found a way to set up and load other blogs using WordPress.org. Here is a partial list:

Blogtip #2: Focus on Shorter Entries and Frequent Writing

This is good news if this ministry marketing skill in blogging is making you stress thinking you have to write novels. The key is quality content, whether that’s just a few paragraphs or even a sentence or two. Your goal is to show that you do have something worth the time to read and that can actually help someone. You can even link to other ministries who may have more knowledge or experience in a certain area.

As you develop quality content, make an effort to write more often. Develop a plan, be consistent, and write! I find sharing about a spiritual nugget that I just read in the Word helpful on days when I don’t feel like I have much to say. Just one verse and a few insights that the Holy Spirit reveals goes a long way.

Blog tip #3: Watch Your Spelling and Grammar!

If you are writing about topics related to your ministry, the quality of your writing does matter. You want to demonstrate to your audience that you can communicate in a clear and concise style. Spelling and syntax errors distract your reader and take away from your credibility. They also might hinder your ability to minister to someone.

Blog tip #4: Include Your Key Contact Information

Your blog may come up in someone’s Google search on a certain topic. Here is where the ministry marketing tip of using a blog connects. But, you must remember to add the basic contact information, such as, the name of your ministry, your phone number, e-mail or other relevant web content. Most blog sites help with this web promoting by giving you templates where this key information can be built in to your actual blog.

Blog tip #5: Use Keywords Often

As you think about specific areas of ministry or categories you want to cover, find the keywords that someone might use to search. There are several tools on line that you can use to help find keywords to related to your topic.

Find terms that are relevant to your ministry or service and that have a high number of searches. Use these terms purposefully in your title tags, link text, and in your blog copy. So focus on these specific keywords as you title your posts, for example. Use as many specifics and keywords you can through out your entries. If you happen to quote a well known preacher or pastor, your blog entry may show up in search engine results alongside that top or recognizable ministry name.

Blog tip #6: Let Your Content Be The Overflow Of Your Relationship With God

This is where the spiritual rubber meets a hurting world’s road. As you spend that intimate one on one time with Jesus in prayer and in the Word, you have a Source from which to draw. You go to the living waters and drink in God’s Word.

The more of Jesus you drink in, the more it is going to spill out of you, whether in person or in your writing. You may have lost a loved one. You can help comfort others in the same situation with the comfort you received in your quiet time with God.

Forget web promotion or ministry marketing, this is when blogging is at it’s strongest and most meaningful.

Christian Promotion Online: Mental Mapping to Success

You may be at a crossroads wondering which direction do you take to begin your Christian promotion plan online.  Where do you begin. What plan do you choose. Who do you choose to learn basic internet marketing steps? Is it possible for  mental mapping to success?

Do you have a road map? Do you have a clear vision in your mind that matches the dream behind the God given destiny?

I love the verse… Book of Proverbs chapter 23 verse 7, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

I remember growing up seeing that verse on my dad’s desk in the den. On one side he had his name, and the other that verse. I didn’t quite understand it then. But now I fully understand the power of the mind!

Here is an amazing fact:  Your brain is capable of change and makes 5000 new cells
per day. This is called neuroplasticity.

So if you ever find yourself afraid to learn something new and are tempted to say, "I’m too old," you can banish this thought.

Science proves that you can learn and change all throughout your life.

Which all leads me to the term "mental mapping" for Christian promotion, business, your goals and dreams….for whatever you desire to see accomplished in your life.

Understanding the importance of having a "mental map", as Jesse Duplantis explains in new book, "Evey Day Visionary", is a key beginning point.

You may be convinced of this God given destiny, but you still have to make choices to go in the direction of it. You need purpose and direction. Your thoughts and dreams must have an intent that gets the "ball rolling" to move! To begin a ministry market plan may be as simple as seeing yourself take advantage of social media, video marketing, and blogs to see your ministry/band/ or organization all over the internet.

No doubt action to what you are mental mapping is key!

A mental map means you take the time to focus, pray, and allow the idea to develop into action. For our purpose here, it could mean as simple as watching all the videos in the ministry marketing video series, or reading the free book from Stephen Pierce.

The focus coupled with the action produces the road map…the mental map, to your final destination to begin that marketplan ministry.

I highly recommend you get this book by Jesse Duplantis as you begin.

In his book, Duplantis gives an example of the beginning stages of how he got his dream of preaching to the World on TV started. His beginning actions included sharing the idea with key people and being faithful in his local area preaching the Word around southern Louisiana. As he preached and shared, people would come up to him and comment on how they were encouraged and could see him on television someday.

With the verbal support came financial support which propelled him to the next step: Hiring the local cable network to video tape him as he shared and preached looking into the television camera. He scheduled a week and had 25 programs recorded.

Duplantis then hired a production company to produce and edit the introductions and closing to his program which had key information containing his ministry’s address and phone number. He then purchased air time, once again locally, and his video began to be aired on the local Cox television station in Louisiana.

Soon people were writing in with prayer requests, support and asking for more material.

The rest is history. Jesse Duplantis is now seen Worldwide on a number of networks. He not only has his ministry program on Christian Networks such as The Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN), Daystar, but also on the major networks of ABC, NBC, CBS,and Fox Television!

Jesse also got a vision of having his own airplane for his ministry one day. At the time, he was driving a vehicle that coughed and sputtered when it went down the road.

Jesse did not focus on his broke, busted, and disgusted means of transportation but on the Word God spoke to him personally. He learned not to share that "pearl" with just anyone also. Year after year Jesse remained faithful to the call of God in his life.

He sowed and sowed…and reaped and reaped…and sowed again. Hundreds became thousands and thousands, hundred of thousands, and…

Just a year ago, Jesse did not just have a plane but an intercontinental jet in his arsenal to reach the world for Jesus.

So write the vision out, make it clear, and put some action to the dream!!

Christian Promotion: #1 Mistake

What is the number one mistake  people make in their Christian Promotion plan online?

Real easy answer. They try to sell!

They operate out of fear ( "I have to pay that bill…I need to make money for my ministry") and that results in trying to push their services, ministry, and products on people.

It ‘s  not just a Christian promotion  mistake, but also a business marketing mistake on the internet.

Yep. SPAM city.

But you don’t have to make that mistake.

Learn a lesson from my mentor to avoid this Christian promotion mistake.

As you might know, friend,Stephen Pierce started out in the futures and commodities niche ten years ago.

He gave away free daily trades five days a week for a year.He shared more details than most paid advisory services.

He didn’t make any money that first year. He focused on providing value, even though he was homeless for part of this time and was in desperate need of money.

He knew he was onto something when he took a vacation and phones started ringing. People were upset because they were dependent on his free daily trades.

Most marketers don’t start out the way Stephen did. And he has amplified to me this error. I see it everywhere. I cringe if I see someone make this ministry marketing mistake on Facebook or Twitter.

The #1 mistake most marketers make when starting out is to sell something right away.

They create a website and begin selling their own product or an affiliate product, or ministry book, etc They go on twitter other other social media sites and push and push the product.

This seems like such a logical thing to do but it misses a very important step…. creating value.

5 Steps To Create Value

So here are 5 steps you can take to create value so you can create wealth….a clear path to avoid a ministry marketing mistake in your market plan:

1.) Instead of asking yourself "what should I sell?" ask yourself, "Am I truly providing value?"

One way to determine if you’re providing value is to ask yourself if what you have would be missed if it was made unavailable for a time.

2.) Share your value through social influence. Condition your market in such a way that people will automatically click when you put something out. Focus on contributing to your market. Focus on serving.

3.) Showcase your ability by building social capital. Social capital can only be earned by sharing and by showing. You can’t buy it. Share and show….don’t sell and spam.

4.) Find the GAP in your market. GAP = Goals, Activities,Priorities. When you know the GAP, things like writing copy, producing a ministry video, writing a book, creating a marketing plan….. and delivering value become easy.

5.) Value increases something people in your market want more of or decreases something they want less of. Sometimes these are simultaneous.

Take a sheet of paper. On the right side write the word "increase." On the left side write the word "decrease." Look at how your product or service or ministry increases what your market wants and decreases what they don’t want.

When you create value in this way you won’t be able to stop the resources from coming in. When you serve with integrity and in a spirit of excellence, more opportunities will come your way!
